The Story
The Challenge
The owners loved their heritage Queenslander but needed more space. Council heritage overlays meant every external change had to be sympathetic to the original character — no modern additions that clashed with the streetscape.
Our Solution
We designed a 45sqm rear extension that mirrors the original roofline and cladding profile, with VJ panelling inside to match existing rooms. A Merbau deck wraps the new living area, blending indoor and outdoor seamlessly.
The Result
A seamless extension that neighbours assume was always part of the original home. The family gained a modern open-plan living area, second bathroom, and generous outdoor entertaining space.
